How do you add paper sizes into Creo View (Lite)?

We have some long-format drawings. We need to be able to plot them at 1:1 scale. This doesn't seem possible with the out-of-the-box paper sizes from the Print (and Print Preview) commands.

Disable PDMLink 10.1 from carrying forward old iteration's image

I'm looking for a way to stop Windchill PDMLink from carrying forward the Creo View images from previous iterations.

Currently, if a publish job fails the system will pull forward the image from the previous iteration. As you can imagine, this causes a problem when people try to review the drawings from Creo View and get a half-completed mess, yet when the file is opened in Creo Parametric everything is completed properly.

Any ideas?

Creo 3.0 M040 - 3D printing licence

Hello,

l have a question about 3D printing "module/function" in Creo 3.0 M040. See following link from PTC:

Design for 3D Printing Using PTC Creo | PTC

Is it a standard function in "standard licence"? Or does it require some special licence?

Thanks in advice

Cad Worker will not publish 'imported surfaces' from Creo to Creo View

Within a Creo Cad .asm, we have included imported CAD which includes Surface geometry.

When viewing publishing in Creo View, those surfaces do not appear.

In Creo view

- opened within assemblies, any objects created as surfaces are blanked out

- opened as a part, they are shown as a block

( see attachment for both examples )

Is there a proper setting for our cad worker to publish this correctly

( I know it should work.  As a test, I performed a save as from creo and was able to produce a .pvz file showing the surfaces, so I'm fairly certain this issue relates to the cad worker settings ?

thanks

Can somebody see if they can open this pvz file?

We have no experience here at our office on opening up PVZ files. I downloaded the Creo Express viewer but am getting an error: An error occured locating a product structure in the zip archive. Can somebody try and open it up for me and see if you're getting the same error? thanks!

SIMPLIFIED REP AND MODEL SECTION

Hi,

When I open a PVZ file created in WF3 I do not have access to the simplified rep or the model section.

If I open the productview rep from the windchill environment I do have access to all this data.

Any Idea on how to get this data when a save as to .pvz is made.

Has anyone had success opening a .pvz file using the CREO View mobile app on an iPad?

The .pvz file I am testing with is 25MB and is located on BOX.com (cloud-based storage).

I get the iPad equivalet to an hourglass in the CREO View mobile app.

Thanks.

Multiple-cut section views in drawings

I'm not entirely sure what to accurately call these, so I haven't had much luck in finding help creating such. At the moment, I'm working to take 2D AutoCAD drawings and turning them into 3D Creo Parametric 2.0 models as well as to recreate the drawings in Creo. In particular, I'm floundering on how to make more complex section views display in my drawings.

Attached is a simplified ref of the original AutoCAD views I'm trying to replicate. I can cut it like the model via an actual extrude but I can't figure out how to get a view looking flat at both cut faces at once. I've also tried to create a xsec with two datum planes in the model itself to then put on the drawing as a 3D cross section, but at that point the view doesn't display the two cutting planes as flat, instead displaying the angled side as coming out of the page and as such a portion of the outer surface is displayed and any attempt to dimension on the view is rendered skewed and worthless.

As an additional little question, where's the option to exclude a part from showing as cut in a cross section of an assembly drawing? With cutting a cylinder I'd like to leave the piston rod fully displayed but cut through all other components.

Any pointers into the right direction for what I'm overlooking would be much appreciated.

Lightweight Graphics Representation

We are trying to get LGR to work in Creo 2 Parameteric M050 and M090 tied to PDMLink 10.1 M040. We have followed the documentation provided by the local PTC rep who we have worked with for many years. We can it it to work with the files saved locally but not tied to PDMLink.

I am able to spin and zoom on the thumbnail in PDMLink, but when we open a file using LGR in Creo, we get outlined boxes representing the parts and subassemblies.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Creo View opens pdf in Adobe Reader with error-message.

Hi All

I am experiencing an issue with Creo View 1.0 Lite and hope you can help me find a solution.

When I click on a link to open a file from Windchill, the Internet Explorer starts Creo Viewer as expected.

But the Creo Viewer does not show the pdf-file.

The pdf-file is opened by Adobe Reader while Creo Viewer presents me with the error-message:

"Failed to load the file. Check the Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader Installation."

How do I configure Creo Viewer to show the pdf and not try to use Adobe Reader?

Model color schemes

Hello all,

is there any way (or workaround) to define various color schemes for a part or assembly model?

For example, when we are working on an assembly, we use different colors to distinguish the different components. Also, at the same time and when we have to make some rendered representations, we have to define some other colors in order to simulate reality as close as possible.

Any ideas? How can someone switch from one color scheme to the other?

Thanks in advance.

Creo View printing black page

$

Hi Everyone,

I'm having problems with some of our stations (mostly laptops with onboard intel graphics) which are working with Creo View 2.0. The program is able to open and view models and drawings but when the user selects print the image prints as a solid black page. This is repeatable accross all printers and even print to PDF converters. Has anyone seen this before and is there a known fix?

Thanks

Dave

Creo view won't display assembly.

We are running Windchill 10.0. I have one pc that can login okay, can find a part and when he selects the assembly he can select open in Creo View 2.0 and the viewer opens, but never displays the part. I have tried three different browsers, two different users on the computer and two different users on Windchill, so the problem appears to be the computer. I have checked Java version and that is okay, not sure what is going on.

External Simplified Representation in PVZ representations

Hello,

When we convert in "positionning assembly" an assembly which is an ESR, content of representation is empty.

I know there is a case about this problem :

CS134023

In structure tab in Windchill, we can see a good representation of the assembly in the representation window.

Is there really no solution ?

To convert assembly in normal mode is not a solution for us. because our assemblies are big assemblies.

We have to convert all of them in "Positionning assembly".

Creo View now embedded in IE instead of stand alone

Since we went from Pro/INTRALINK 10.2 from version 9.1 Creo View opens embedded in IE instead of stand alone. Is there an option to launch Creo View as a stand alone program as it used to function? I've been looking at the Creo View options & Windchill preferences with no luck.

How to make lines show up thinner when exporting drawing as a PDF in a Net Based Creo Parametric?

$

Hello,

I am using a Net Based Creo Parametric 2.0. When I export an engineering drawing to a PDF file, the resulting lines are too thick, and obscure some of the fine details. I have attempted to follow what others have written, which have to do with including pentable files in the working directory and/or modifying the config.pro file, and checking the "Use Pentable" box in the export dialog box. However, (1) there is no pentable.pnt file in my working directory, and when I create one (opening a notepad text file, copying some suggested block of code like the one below into it:

pen 1 thickness 0.003 in

pen 2 thickness 0.005 in

etc.

and finally saving it as a .pnt file), I can't reopen the resulting .pnt file; I get an error that says "can't open because file is corrupt." (2) I have tried to copy certain blocks of code into the config file but to no avail.

If someone would be so kind, what I seek is a clear, step-by-step explanation of everything I need to do to get a PDF with thin black lines from a drawing, including any blocks of code if necessary, the proper way to create any files, what folders to put them in, etc.

Basically a "getting thinner lines for dummies"

Hope someone can help. Thanks.

Drawing quality in creo view 2.0 not good

$

Dear Experts,

I need your help to fix this burning issue

Most of the drawings look good when we open it from Creo2.0 parametric, even the quality of export to PDF from parametric looks good,

However when I open the same drawing in creo view 2.0 it looks horrible despite the fact that I had set an environment variable PVIEW_PRINT_MINIMUM_LINE_WIDTH with value as 0.2

Can any one help me out on this

Thanks in advance,

Adobe LifeCycle ES4 SP1 Office Document failed to convert to PDF

$

I have started to install the Adobe LC ES4 SP1 on the Windows 7 Pro 64-bit as our Test Publisher.  It works fine without any issue in MS Office 2010 publishing.

When moving to install it as Production system, it is installed on a VMWare with Windows 2008 R2 64-bit.  It has more memory (16 GB) and faster CPU speed.  However, it will not publish the MS Word or Excel document.  When testing in the ADMINUI page inside Adobe LifeCycle ES4 SP1 using "Create PDF", I encountered this error:

Error Code:10010
  Error Message:

Error message from the primary converter:
ALC-PDG-010-010-The conversion has timed out.

Error message from the fallback converter:
ALC-PDG-011-030-Submitted OpenOffice Document could not be converted to PDF. Either OpenOffice is not installed on this system or environment variable OpenOffice_PATH is not set to correct path. Please set OpenOffice_PATH environment variable to the <OpenOffice_Installation_Dir> on the server (e.g C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenOffice.org 3.0) and then restart the server.

I have the 32-bit MS Office Professional version installed and activated fine.  I am not sure why Adobe LC ES4 SP1 is not picking MS Office to publish, but fall back to OpenOffice in publishing?  I have searched the PTC KB and saw the same issue in the past for Adobe Acrobat 9 and Adobe LC ES3 issue and thought this issue should be resolved.  I have Adobe Acrobat XI also coming with the PTC license, so they should be OK.

I sent the Adobe LC ES4 server.log to PTC TS, but found no useful info.

Has anyone had an idea why it would not call MS Office to publish?  or may have any solution?
