I received a creoview file from a customer and it is showing all dimensions, notes & datums. Is there a way to turn these off so that I don't see them?

Creo View - Saving PVZ Model Correctly
Hi Guys,
I've searched forums, read user manuals, and watched videos and I still can not understand how Creo View saves to a PVZ. For instance, you can save a dozen annotations and click on File Menu > Save All and it appears to do nothing. Coworkers and myself have lost a lot of annotation work when Creo View crashes. We are saving often. When I looked into this, the PVZ file's Date Modified time stamp in Windows 7 File Explorer shows that it was never saved. It seems Creo View only saves to the PVZ file when the program is exited or closed. On exit/close, it will display a saving progress indicator writing to the compressed file. It is also evident it only saves when closing by the Date Modified time stamp in Windows 7 File Explorer.
Am I missing something or does Creo View in fact only save to the PVZ file when it's closed? Should I be using PVS files? I never have because I didn't want to manage all the files it generates.
Also, when multiple models are merged or a model is inserted into another. Save All AS PVZ will not save correctly. The file will save only a fraction of the size of the merged files and it will be empty when it is opened again. Save ALL COPY OF ALL AS PVZ saves the models correctly.
This is very confusing for new users to know how to save their work. Anyone have any suggestions for better more reliable saves?

Creoview 2 or 3 changes degree and diameter symbols to tilde and "n"
On several of our workstations, whenever a dxf/dwg thumbnail drawing is created and viewed in Windchill 10.1, using Creoview Lite 2 or 3 (tried all revisions) the degree and diameter symbols on the screen (and in print) turn into the wrong font mapped symbol and become a tilde and a lowercase "n" -- this only happens with specific machines. Windows 7, 64bit. Others display the same symbols on the same drawings just fine. Different video cards in these PCs/laptops. Tried latest video drivers. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. See graphic.
CREO View on iPad
Has anyone had success opening a .pvz file using the CREO View mobile app on an iPad?
The .pvz file I am testing with is 25MB and is located on BOX.com (cloud-based storage).
I get the iPad equivalet to an hourglass in the CREO View mobile app.
Thanks.

Multiple-cut section views in drawings
I'm not entirely sure what to accurately call these, so I haven't had much luck in finding help creating such. At the moment, I'm working to take 2D AutoCAD drawings and turning them into 3D Creo Parametric 2.0 models as well as to recreate the drawings in Creo. In particular, I'm floundering on how to make more complex section views display in my drawings.
Attached is a simplified ref of the original AutoCAD views I'm trying to replicate. I can cut it like the model via an actual extrude but I can't figure out how to get a view looking flat at both cut faces at once. I've also tried to create a xsec with two datum planes in the model itself to then put on the drawing as a 3D cross section, but at that point the view doesn't display the two cutting planes as flat, instead displaying the angled side as coming out of the page and as such a portion of the outer surface is displayed and any attempt to dimension on the view is rendered skewed and worthless.
As an additional little question, where's the option to exclude a part from showing as cut in a cross section of an assembly drawing? With cutting a cylinder I'd like to leave the piston rod fully displayed but cut through all other components.
Any pointers into the right direction for what I'm overlooking would be much appreciated.
What are .ol and .pvs files?
Creo View opens pdf in Adobe Reader with error-message.
Hi All
I am experiencing an issue with Creo View 1.0 Lite and hope you can help me find a solution.
When I click on a link to open a file from Windchill, the Internet Explorer starts Creo Viewer as expected.
But the Creo Viewer does not show the pdf-file.
The pdf-file is opened by Adobe Reader while Creo Viewer presents me with the error-message:
"Failed to load the file. Check the Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader Installation."
How do I configure Creo Viewer to show the pdf and not try to use Adobe Reader?
showing hole depth in a drawing
I'm doing a drawing with holes. If I use "show model annotations" and select on the feature, it shows the dimesions for that feature in that view.
In Wildfire I had an option to show all dimensions, and it would show hole dimensions, and the depth in a perpendicular view. I could then edit the hole diameter dimension to include the depth. [why isn't this an option to show with the diameter dimension? It should have been added a long time ago]
Anyways, in Creo I show the dimensions for that feature, and the depth does not show. I have to go to another view, turn that view to show hidden, find the feature, and then show the dimension.
Am I missing some simple means of getting the hole depth, or did Creo lose something along the way?
Crossections from Creo Parametric
It is possible to see a cross sections (xsections) in a part/assembly, if the a cross sections was made in Creo Parametric?
ProductView and Google Chrome
All,
I've been trying to get ProductView to work with the Google Chrome browser, but to no avail. ProductView works fine with IE and Firefox, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times to get the same results.
Does anyone know how to get google chrome to work with ProductView? It'd be nice to use a good/fast browser with Windchill, but ProductView is kind of necessary for me.
Also, as another side question - Firefox doesn't seem to want to find related items when placing parts in a workspace, Change Notice, etc. It just freezes while "processing". Anyone know how to fix this as well? This isn't as important if Google Chrome can be fixed.

CreoView Memory Usage
We have suddenly encountered a problem company wide where when doing certain actions in CreoView, like selecting File/Options causes CreoView to utilize all CPU Physical Memory and causes the CPU to become unresponsive for several minutes. This just started happening where it was fine before. Any suggestions?

Model color schemes
Hello all,
is there any way (or workaround) to define various color schemes for a part or assembly model?
For example, when we are working on an assembly, we use different colors to distinguish the different components. Also, at the same time and when we have to make some rendered representations, we have to define some other colors in order to simulate reality as close as possible.
Any ideas? How can someone switch from one color scheme to the other?
Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to change the colours of the parts in an assembly in Creo View Express?
Hello, everyone.
I would like to know if it is possible to change the colours of the parts in an assembly in Creo View Express.
I have some problems with visualization of the plastic injection mould in Creo View Express 2.0.
The plates that were grey in Creo Parametric become black in Creo View Express. And some of them are represented in a wireframe mode.
So it's difficult to distinguish one part from another.
You can see what I mean in the pictures below.
Thanks in advance.

Creo View printing black page
Hi Everyone,
I'm having problems with some of our stations (mostly laptops with onboard intel graphics) which are working with Creo View 2.0. The program is able to open and view models and drawings but when the user selects print the image prints as a solid black page. This is repeatable accross all printers and even print to PDF converters. Has anyone seen this before and is there a known fix?
Thanks
Dave
How to get annotations displayed in Creo View's 'Viewables'
Good morning to everybody,
perhaps someone of you have a solution for this problem:
I have defined some Combined States in a Creo assembly.
Some 3D annotations are assigned to specific combined states so that every state displays only certain annotations. This works fine in Creo Parametric 2 and 3.
I want these Combined states to be available under the "Viewables" Tab in Creo View (Lite).
I am using the RCP editor to configure the output of pvs/pvz files.
And in Creo I set the config option "intf_out_pvs_recipe_file" to the rcp file.
My problem:
When I export a PVS/PVZ file from Creo 2 (M180) the combined states are available in CreoView 3 (M031) as "Viewables", BUT annotations are shown in "Master View" only. The Combined States/Viewables doesn't show any annotations.
When I use Creo 3 Parametric (M060) and the same rcp file for export to PVZ/PVS) then the notes/annotations are shown in CreoView 3 (M031). Creo 3 seems to use another option for this type of export.
My question:
Does anybody know if there is a config/rcp option for Creo 2 Parametric that ensures annotations to be displayed in CreoView Viewables? Our productive version is Croe 2 (and will be 2016), so Creo 3 isn't an option today.
Thanks in advance.

Export 3D mechanism
More and more customers are asking us to give them 3D mechanisms of our product. They want to be able to move our model and add their own models.
We know how to make Mechanisms in Creo. Problem is, is there any kind of interchange standard for this? Is there any free program which can import mechanisms from Creo?
Best regards
