Has anyone had success opening a .pvz file using the CREO View mobile app on an iPad?

The .pvz file I am testing with is 25MB and is located on BOX.com (cloud-based storage).

I get the iPad equivalet to an hourglass in the CREO View mobile app.

Thanks.

Rick

Multiple-cut section views in drawings

I'm not entirely sure what to accurately call these, so I haven't had much luck in finding help creating such. At the moment, I'm working to take 2D AutoCAD drawings and turning them into 3D Creo Parametric 2.0 models as well as to recreate the drawings in Creo. In particular, I'm floundering on how to make more complex section views display in my drawings.

Attached is a simplified ref of the original AutoCAD views I'm trying to replicate. I can cut it like the model via an actual extrude but I can't figure out how to get a view looking flat at both cut faces at once. I've also tried to create a xsec with two datum planes in the model itself to then put on the drawing as a 3D cross section, but at that point the view doesn't display the two cutting planes as flat, instead displaying the angled side as coming out of the page and as such a portion of the outer surface is displayed and any attempt to dimension on the view is rendered skewed and worthless.

As an additional little question, where's the option to exclude a part from showing as cut in a cross section of an assembly drawing? With cutting a cylinder I'd like to leave the piston rod fully displayed but cut through all other components.

Any pointers into the right direction for what I'm overlooking would be much appreciated.

Creo View 3.0 M030 with Internet Explorer (IE) 11

Does anyone know how to force Creo View to use Document Mode 8 with Internet Explorer 11? We are running Windchill 10.1 M050, Creo Parametric 2.0 M140 and Creo View 3.0 M030. According to the PTC literature, all of these versions should be compatible with IE 11. We had to force Windchill to load in Document Mode 8 in order to get it to work. We are having an issue with Creo View, however, where it will not load CAD drawing or other images because its default IE document mode is 5. When using F12 to go to developer mode, we can manually change the document mode to 8 and then the image loads properly; however, as soon as a new Creo View session is loaded, the document mode defaults back to 5 and won't work again.

Any ideas how to force Creo View to always use document mode 8 with IE 11?

Does anyone know how to configure creo view (product view) express? There is a pvexpress.cfg file in the load point bin directory.

Not sure how to configure start up and working directory or if there are any other options you can configure like in Creo (Pro/E).

Do I put my config.pro in the bin directory?

Thanks in advance...Mike

Creo View opens pdf in Adobe Reader with error-message.

Hi All

I am experiencing an issue with Creo View 1.0 Lite and hope you can help me find a solution.

When I click on a link to open a file from Windchill, the Internet Explorer starts Creo Viewer as expected.

But the Creo Viewer does not show the pdf-file.

The pdf-file is opened by Adobe Reader while Creo Viewer presents me with the error-message:

"Failed to load the file. Check the Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader Installation."

How do I configure Creo Viewer to show the pdf and not try to use Adobe Reader?

How to avoid publishing for a particular context (Product in our case)

Hello,

We are on Windchill 10 M040. We are currently mass loading CAD Files (.SLDPRT) into a particular context. We do not want to publish these files for now. These files follow the same LC as any other EPM Document. Is there a way to prevent publishing only for this context, as it puts a huge backlog on the WVS jobs.

Model color schemes

Hello all,

is there any way (or workaround) to define various color schemes for a part or assembly model?

For example, when we are working on an assembly, we use different colors to distinguish the different components. Also, at the same time and when we have to make some rendered representations, we have to define some other colors in order to simulate reality as close as possible.

Any ideas? How can someone switch from one color scheme to the other?

Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to change the colours of the parts in an assembly in Creo View Express?

Hello, everyone.

I would like to know if it is possible to change the colours of the parts in an assembly in Creo View Express.

I have some problems with visualization of the plastic injection mould in Creo View Express 2.0.

The plates that were grey in Creo Parametric become black in Creo View Express. And some of them are represented in a wireframe mode.

So it's difficult to distinguish one part from another.

You can see what I mean in the pictures below.

Thanks in advance.

Painting Features in a Part File

$

Hello all,

Sorry to post what is probably an elementary question, I am new to Pro Engineer (I've only been using it for a little over a month now) and my problem is this:

I have a part file with multiple revolve features in it that are stacked on top of each other. So basically, if you imagine it similar to maybe a stack of washers... the top of the 2nd revolve is directly contacting the bottom of the 1st revolve, and the top of the 3rd revolve is directly contacting the bottom of the 2nd revolve, etc etc. I want to paint each individual revolve a different color so if you look at a cross section you clearly see the stack up (right now it just looks like a solid grey piece.) However, when I go to paint the surfaces, it acts as if all the different revolves stacked on top of each other are one solid piece and it paints one side of the entire stack up instead of just the one revolve I want. It doesn't seem to allow me to click the feature in the model tree in order to paint the whole feature at once, and if I change the selection method in the top right from "all" to "part" it again acts as if the whole thing is one part instead of many stacked features.

I also tried suppressing all the features but one in order to change the appearances one at a time, but when I paint the remaining feature and restore the suppressed features they are painted too.

Also, I know that it is possible in an assembly file... is it possible in a part file too?

This is driving me nuts!

I'm sure their must be a simple way to do this!

Thanks for your help!

Pete

Creo View printing black page

Hi Everyone,

I'm having problems with some of our stations (mostly laptops with onboard intel graphics) which are working with Creo View 2.0. The program is able to open and view models and drawings but when the user selects print the image prints as a solid black page. This is repeatable accross all printers and even print to PDF converters. Has anyone seen this before and is there a known fix?

Thanks

Does somebody know how to customize render mode in Creo Illustrate?

E.g. two different modes for big and smaller assemblies with different line thickness.

Or customize the % of color for white shaded illustration.

I searched in config folder (all the *.xml files) but didn’t find anything.

Republish Out Of Date

So I've gone through and have set up my test system and the properties on it to republish out of date items.  So I changed a component that is used in an assembly.  The assembly doesn't start republishing. doesn't watermark the picture on the Details page and does not even register or show up when you Schedule a job to RepublishAllOutOfDateRepresentations.  I am on Windchill M030-CPS09 with the latest adapters which are M032.  Anyone have any ideas of how to get this to work?

Creo View

I have a extremely large model that I need to dimension/ make views of.  Is it possible to open this model in Creo View and do the following:

1.Dimension

2.Make Separate views, notes, gd&t, etc.

3. Make a drawing from it?

I think it would be extremely beneficial if we could do most of the drawing work in Creo View, then use that information to make a drawing off of.

Thanks,
