Creo View - Saving PVZ Model Correctly

$

Hi Guys,

I've searched forums, read user manuals,  and watched videos and I still can not understand how Creo View saves to a PVZ.  For instance, you can save a dozen annotations and click on File Menu > Save All and it appears to do nothing.  Coworkers and myself have lost a lot of annotation work when Creo View crashes.  We are saving often.  When I looked into this, the PVZ file's Date Modified time stamp in Windows 7 File Explorer shows that it was never saved.  It seems Creo View only saves to the PVZ file when the program is exited or closed.  On exit/close, it will display a saving progress indicator writing to the compressed file.  It is also evident it only saves when closing by the Date Modified time stamp in Windows 7 File Explorer.

Am I missing something or does Creo View in fact only save to the PVZ file when it's closed? Should I be using PVS files?  I never have because I didn't want to manage all the files it generates.

Also, when multiple models are merged or a model is inserted into another.  Save All AS PVZ will not save correctly.  The file will save only a fraction of the size of the merged files and it will be empty when it is opened again.  Save ALL COPY OF ALL AS PVZ saves the models correctly.

This is very confusing for new users to know how to save their work.  Anyone have any suggestions for better more reliable saves?

In the CreoView Adapter on the CADWorker, where is the control for having it publish WITHOUT showing datums (planes, axes, coord systems)?

I'm using Windchill 10.1.  My CADWorker is a virtual machine Windows box.  We just upgraded to Creo 3.0 from 2.0 and I kinda lost recipe files and whatnot in the upgrade, but I've gotten the thing to work (thank you Shamsher!).  Only, now when it publishes, all the bloody datums are visible.  Every drawing kinda looks like a chia pet!  Where do you turn those things off?  I put in a config.pro on the box so that display_axes, etc, would be turned off when it starts up.  I also went through the recipe file and turned off the 'tessellated datums' choice, but every drawing still comes out with axes, planes, and c-sys's.

li'l help, please?

Creo View 3.0 printing problem

Dear all,

On some workstations, Creo View 3 does not print DRW files. The strange thing is that 3D models can be printed without any problems. Does anyone encountered this issue and perhapse have an idea to solve this?

Thanks in advance!

creo viewer weld symbols and dimensions disappear

Using Creo 3.0 and creating multiple view states. All is fine and good in creo, but once we publish to the viewer (creo viewer light) we are missing complete welds or just the leader lines, and sometimes dimensions. This seems to only occur on assemblies that are rather big (4000 + features) Currently on build M030 and windchill 10.2. Exhausted all avenues of help with PTC, even sent them a weldment file and they had the same issues and no clue how to resolve.

Problem after crash Creo View 3.0 MCAD

Hi all,

We have had an issue with PTC Creo View 3.0 (MCAD). First of all, I'm not the actual user of the software, and I'm not too familiar with it.

One of our users however was working in the software when it crashed (do not know why). After the crash he opened the project again, but

when he tried to view the assembly, nothing shows up. The tree shows all parts with a small red x now (see screenshot). Does anybody have

an idea of what went wrong and/or how to fix it? The user spent several hours on the changes, saving regularly, but now has to start over...

Thanks in advance

How to change the linestyle of a 2D-Vector-File

Hello everybody,

I wonder how I can define the width of the lines when I use:

File => Save Current View As => Save as 2D Vector File  => PDF

I didn't find any recipe or pen table file I could use for this. Or is it simply not possible to Change something here in CV?

I used CV3.1 MCAD when trying this.

Thanks for your help in advance.

I have used a Creo View model to prepare workshop instructions for assembly. Now that the original Creo model has been updated to next version (New parts added), how do I update my Creo view model? Is there any way to update existing view model OR I have no choice but to again create a full new Creo view assembly?

Thanks in advance for your answers

Can you open a SolidEdge file directly in Creo? Creo View?

Hello,

I have been told that you can open a SolidEdge file directly in Creo View Professional. I only have Creo View Express and do not see this capability advertised with any "professional" version. Can anyone tell me if any of PTC's Creo 2 applications can open a SolidEdge file directly? Any other way? Saving the SolidEdge file to a neutral format through SolidEdge is not an option, we do not have SolidEdge and only have access to the SolidEdge file.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Model color schemes

Hello all,

is there any way (or workaround) to define various color schemes for a part or assembly model?

For example, when we are working on an assembly, we use different colors to distinguish the different components. Also, at the same time and when we have to make some rendered representations, we have to define some other colors in order to simulate reality as close as possible.

Any ideas? How can someone switch from one color scheme to the other?

Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to change the colours of the parts in an assembly in Creo View Express?

Hello, everyone.

I would like to know if it is possible to change the colours of the parts in an assembly in Creo View Express.

I have some problems with visualization of the plastic injection mould in Creo View Express 2.0.

The plates that were grey in Creo Parametric become black in Creo View Express. And some of them are represented in a wireframe mode.

So it's difficult to distinguish one part from another.

You can see what I mean in the pictures below.

Thanks in advance.

When will PCT replace NAPI dependency for Creo View plugin?

The issue to not support Edge or Chrome web-browsers will increase when customers are moving over to Windows 10 clients or need to upgrade the browser based upon security concerns. . What is PTC´s roadmap to solve the NAPI issue with other technologies?

Creoview 2 or 3 changes degree and diameter symbols to tilde and "n"

$

On several of our workstations, whenever a dxf/dwg thumbnail drawing is created and viewed in Windchill 10.1, using Creoview Lite 2 or 3 (tried all revisions) the degree and diameter symbols on the screen (and in print) turn into the wrong font mapped symbol and become a tilde and a lowercase "n" -- this only happens with specific machines. Windows 7, 64bit. Others display the same symbols on the same drawings just fine. Different video cards in these PCs/laptops. Tried latest video drivers. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. See graphic.

Using Creo View Express as a browser plugin

Where can I find any documentation of how to configure and use the Creo View Express as a plugin in a webbrowser like Firefox.

So far I'm doing a

<embed height="100%" width="100%" name="plugin" src="nvidia-demo.pvz" type="application/x-pvlite9-ed">

It is displayed correctly but I want to disable the toolbar, for example.

Furthermore I need access to the JavaScript API to be able to communicate with the plugin.

I'm using Creo View Express, Version Creo 2.0, Datecode F000 build 23.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Creo View Markups

Greetings all.

We are upgrading to Windchill 10.2 and Creo 2.0 from Windchill 9.1 and Pro/Elements 5.0 We are wanting to use the "Mark up" funciton in Creo View to both mark up our drawings in the review process and to retain the information for later review of the design process.

I am looking for best practices, and how to understand the way that Creo View works.

How are annotations preserved when the revision changes?

Will the annotation stay with the revision it was added to, or will it transmit to the next revision?

Also, will they stay permanently or are they deleted when a Creo drawing or model is released?

Thanks in advance, James

Creo View printing black page

$

Hi Everyone,

I'm having problems with some of our stations (mostly laptops with onboard intel graphics) which are working with Creo View 2.0. The program is able to open and view models and drawings but when the user selects print the image prints as a solid black page. This is repeatable accross all printers and even print to PDF converters. Has anyone seen this before and is there a known fix?

Thanks

Dave
