Annoyance - Need help in preventing scroll bars when launching Creo View.

Every time I launch Creo View 3.1 from Windchill 10.2 into an Internet Explorer 11 tab, I get the scrollbars to show up on the right and bottom panes.  To remove them, my workaround is to maximize the page and then minimize again.  Does anybody know the settings in Internet Explorer or Creo View to prevent this from happening?  The bottom scroll bar hides the information that I want to see or select!

Is there a way to put welding symbols in an engineering drawing in Creo 3.0? Specifically, I just want to define a groove weld on a pipe all the way around.

Set Representation to User-Defined?

In a CREO 2.0 assembly model...

I wanted to try to use Set Representation To...  User Defined.

But it tells me "No common user-defined states found for current selection(s).

I have created Simplified Reps... but that doesn't seem to be what it's looking for.

How do I Set Rep to User Defined?

Thanks

Drawing notes and parameters

i have a parameter, NB, integer for the number of clamping bolts.

in the drawing i have a callout note on the top view that i want it to say 4x M16x30.

the problem is that i cannot make it without a space between x and the param: &NB:9 x M16x30.

if the param is a real number, i can do it like this and it works: &NB:9[.0]x M16x30 without the space.

Is there any way of doing that for an int?

i've tried the upper approach and it of course doesn't work. I've also tried to enclose it in curly brackets {&NB:9}x and it also doesn't work (it shows the brackets in the notes).

How to get annotations displayed in Creo View's 'Viewables'

$

Good morning to everybody,

perhaps someone of you have a solution for this problem:

I have defined some Combined States in a Creo assembly.

Some 3D annotations are assigned to specific combined states so that every state displays only certain annotations. This works fine in Creo Parametric 2 and 3.

I want these Combined states to be available under the "Viewables" Tab in Creo View (Lite).

I am using the RCP editor to configure the output of pvs/pvz files.

And in Creo I set the config option "intf_out_pvs_recipe_file" to the rcp file.

My problem:

When I export a PVS/PVZ file from Creo 2 (M180) the combined states are available in CreoView 3 (M031) as "Viewables", BUT annotations are shown in "Master View" only. The Combined States/Viewables doesn't show any annotations.

When I use  Creo 3 Parametric (M060) and the same rcp file for export to PVZ/PVS) then the notes/annotations are shown in CreoView 3 (M031). Creo 3 seems to use another option for this type of export.

My question:

Does anybody know if there is a config/rcp option for Creo 2 Parametric that ensures annotations to be displayed in CreoView Viewables? Our productive version is Croe 2 (and will be 2016), so Creo 3 isn't an option today.

Thanks in advance.

How can we hide the annotations when open in Creo View?

When we open an assembly with annotations that was created as Creo View file we always see all annotations from
all combined states when we open it.

Is there a way to turn off that behavior so that if we open it in Creo View the annotations only show up, if one of the combined
states will be selected where the annotation was created and not in the "start configuration"

Creo View 2.0 M040 install path

We've been using Creo View 2.0 M010 in connection with Windchill PDMLink 10.0 M030 without issue for over a year. We've had it installed in a non-default path (D:\apps\PTC\Creo 2.0\View) as we typically keep all our CAD software and related apps isolated to that D:\apps directory. In preparation for moving from Wildfire 4 to Creo 2 Parametric M090 next month, we thought we'd go to the latest M-code of Creo View 2.0 - M040. With that all Creo 2.0 related software is installed at D:\apps\PTC\Creo 2.0 - view continues to be in a "View" folder in that location and Creo Parametric 2.0 M090 is in the "Common Files", "Parametric" etc. Problem is, with Creo View 2.0 M040 installed in that location, it no longer works with Windchill PDMLink. The viewable window on the information page for an object is black and can't be clicked on to launch View. If I uninstall Creo View 2.0 M040 and let it install to the default C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 2.0\View folder, it works fine with Windchill. Going back and forth with this (uninstall, reinstall - alternating the paths) there is a clear correllation - default install path, it works...our preferred install path, it does not work. I tested it with Creo View 3.0 M010 and it behaves the same as 2.0 M040 - works with Windchill if installed to the default "C:\Program Files\ . . ." path, doesn't work with Windchill if installed to our preferred "D:\apps\. . .". Has anyone else seen this type of behavior? Thoughts on why it worked fine with Creo View 2.0 M010, but M040 and after it does not? In all cases, Creo View runs fine if manually started from the installation. Checking the registry, the install path is getting noted properly when installed in either location.

Creo Illustrate production instructions examples

Hello,

We are preparing 2D production drawings using Creo 2.0 as shop floor manufacturing information.

Workshop drawings are supplemented by long and boring texts called standard workshop manufacturing instructions.

I believe it's a pretty classic way of production documentation in manufacturing industry.

As I understand, Creo Illustrate is an attempt to change all that by helping designers prepare production instructions in 3D or a lively 2D format. I am not sure if outlput of illustrate is a paper printable document or an electronic screen video with interactive possibilities?

My questions are:

1) How illustrate data can be organised? The files remain in Creo 3D model's local folder or in Windchill? In case of modification in Creo part data, is it possible to set up an windchill work-flow to update illustrate instructions?

2) Can we create printable pages like creo drawings in standard company A4 format with part list on each page. The aim would be to prepare sBOM (Service BOM) based on eBOM by reorgansing parts, adding consumable parts, tools into subassemblies (one subassembly for each page).

3) Would it be possible to generate reusable small modules of specific instructions such as assembling fan on a motor and then reuse these modules for different assembly instructions.

4) I am interested in looking at a real world example, if anybody has prepared such production instructions with Creo Illustrate.

Thanks in advance

Display Skeleton Geometry in Creo View

$

I have a large assembly with several sub-assemblies. Each subassembly contains a skeleton model. Some of these skeleton models have geometry representing space claims. If I open any of the skeleton models by itself, the geometry is displayed. If I open an assembly containing the skeleton, the geometry is not displayed. How can I make the skeleton geometry display in the assembly?

I have created a repair procedure consisting of about 12 sequence steps in Creo Illustrate 3.0. I am able to step through the sequence in Creo Illustrate.

BUT...

How do I export or output this procedure so it can be seen and followed by others?

Any help appreciated!

Fix Creo Illustrate SVG export

When creating an illustration, and using section view of the model, capping the section does not affect to the SVG export in any way.

Creo Illustrate needs to cap the section when exporting to SVG as well. The lines behind the capped geometry are visible in the SVG export, but not in the illustration.

Attached are the capped section.png which shows what is the illustration setup, and SVG export that has been done from the illustration.

Changing Graphics card

I currently have custom gaming PC which has a Gigabyte Nvedia 770 with 4gb built in and 8gb of ram, although it is not designed for CAD I believe that it could run better than my integrated graphics on my 3770k.

I'm not sure but I believe that Creo is only using my CPU which is being over loaded, I even got a new cooler when it reached 105 degrees C when rendering.

Does someone know who to check in Creo parametric what graphics card is being used and if there is a way of switching to my other graphics card.

Greatly appreciated if anyone can help.
